Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the one-off national public holiday to allow people to pay their respects for the passing of the monarch.
Coincidentally, the public holiday falls on Lismore Cup Day.
The traditional half day holiday for the Cup was not granted by Lismore councillors this year due to the impact of flooding on businesses, but it will now be a full day public holiday.
Lismore Turf Club secretary Scott Jones said the event go ahead as planned and expects the the holiday to impact crowd numbers.
"The races will go ahead for sure, it will just be bigger," Mr Jones said.
Free shuttle buses will run on the day, on the following loop from 11:30am-1:30pm and then back from 4:30pm-6:30pm: Lismore Workers Sports Club, Goonellabah Tavern, Lismore Workers Golf Club, M & T Tyre Centre Lismore, Lismore Turf Club, and Lismore Heights Sports Club.
