Distances this year include 4km, 10km 21km and the 42km virtual run.
Barbara Chapman will be there with the starter gun and said the event has been the perfect tribute to her husband.
It started out as a Southern Cross University initiative, while Rebekka Battista has run the event as the Our Kids fundraising coordinator for over a decade.
Funds raised go towards Our Kids and purchasing lifesaving equipment for local hospitals.
"Rebekka has been amazing, every year seems to get better and I admire her so much for the amount of work she puts in," Barbara said.
"It's terrific for our family and we're so grateful that it's still running after 30 years.
"My oldest son Matthew will go in it and hopefully my other son and grandson will come down from Brisbane, again."
Chapman was a distinguished academic and sportsman who lost his battle with cancer in 1992.
He was a much loved and highly regarded member of the Australian sporting community.
He attended St. John's College Woodlawn and played Rugby League for Australia and captained South Sydney before becoming NSW Assistant Director of Sport.
He also established the Human Movement Science and Sport Management program at Southern Cross University.

"Darrel's memory lives on and he really contributed to the whole sporting community," Barbara said.
"It's great to see him remembered and he would have really loved this event."
"He always believed that sport was for the whole community and everyone has a right to participate at that own level."
The event has been held every year, including after the 2022 floods and during COVID-19 where it was a virtual run where competitors entered their own times.
Registrations for the 2024 event are now open with early bird prices at www.darrelchapman.com.
NAB and the Lord's Taverners are major partners with Our Kids while Connect Business Solutions and engineering group Terania helped launch the event this week.
Any questions regarding the event, can be made at the Our Kids office during business hours, on 6620 2705.
